Designing a new construction home for a large family requires a thoughtful approach to space and organization. Our clients, a family of seven, needed a home that could effortlessly accommodate everything from hosting large family events like holidays, sleepovers and high school soccer parties, to the simple things required for everyday life. Spanning over 5,000 square feet, the challenge was to create a space that felt both expansive and warm, fostering a sense of togetherness without sacrificing individual comfort.
The key to achieving this balance began in the kitchen, where a harmonious blend of Nantucket blue and bright white cabinets and custom wood floors set the tone – warm and casual, but still elegant. A striking waterfall island countertop serves as both a functional workspace and a central gathering spot. The custom stainless-steel hood over the Wolf range, paired with a disappearing backsplash, offers a sleek, contemporary look while providing a glimpse into the butler’s pantry. This pantry mirrors the kitchen’s blue upper cabinets and introduces rich walnut lower cabinets and countertops, complemented by a patterned tile backsplash that adds visual interest.
Throughout the home, meticulous attention to detail ensures that every space feels cohesive and inviting. From the elegant herringbone wood ceiling and sleek floating bathroom vanities to the custom-built home theater, each element is perfectly tailored to suit this family’s lifestyle making every day more effortless and enjoyable.
